    I am being harassed and persecuted to death (literally, I am feeling violently ill) by the new principal, Santiago Tavers,( who was Deputy chancellor for Bllomberg and he is the one who invented and implemented Quality Review for schools) because I am a whistle blower. I need your support so I do not lose my mind.

      I just went through the exact same thing – lost my job for blowing the whistle but I am not about to roll over. You are NOT alone. They want to you feel ill and lose your mind. Their tactics are designed to do just that. Get in touch with other teachers like Francesco and go to this site http://endteacherabuse.org/. You keep strong and learn how to document everything.

  3. So true, their tactics are definitely meant to make one lose one’s mind….going through it myself….even documenting is so hard because of the excessive work we are constantly inundated with to make sure we have time for nothing else 🙁

    When a teacher receives tenure now in 2014/15..do they receive a tenure certificate? A letter, how does the teacher know they have been granted tenure?

  7. It is not only untenured teachers being harassed. Support staff, such as, parent coordinators, and school aides are also harassed by principals who want to use them in any way they wish, and when they speak out, try to defend themselves, or the student/parents they service, principals wear them down enough to want to leave. Disgusting!

    If I were an outsider looking in, I would think this was all a pack of lies, but unfortunately I have seen, heard, observed it happened all too often.

  8. At PS 385, Interim acting principal Kimberly Shelley has, for the past two years done nothing, but demoralized the staff with her never ending demands, and tactics– to divide and conquer. The staff has to pay court to her for fear of retaliation–as she is known to give teachers who dare speak up against any of her bullying tactics, Ineffective ratings. Ms. Shelley chose this year to close several classrooms in the school, preferring to use her favored teachers as her personal assistants. She could easily have assigned her coaches (really her Assistant Principals), to those classrooms and prevented the difficulties now being endured by the children and teachers, with large rosters and countless behavior issues. Whereas last year, classrooms were not larger than 17 to 20 students, this year they are up to 29 children per class. None of the teachers at the school trust, nor approve of her— they keep hoping the school will close, and the abuse of teachers and students by this principal—finally end. These children and teachers need and deserve, a fresh start.
